A Woman in the Desert
All my life I've had many passions. None of which make me feel worthy or whole the way photography does. We are constantly faced with expectations, standards, and limits on what is possible to achieve in our lifetime. It overwhelms me.
Sometimes we have to slow down and appreciate the beauty of it all. Sometimes, spending an extra moment to admire the natural wonder of our environment, or the warmness in someone's eyes when they are feeling confident, or the historic architecture that makes our home unique, puts our world in perspective for us.
For me, being human means being part of something that is more than just focused on the individual. It's caring about other human beings and the health of our earth. It's sharing knowledge, ideas, and meaningful experiences. It's expressing emotions, positive or negative, in creative and captivating ways. It's making others feel worthy of being part of this world while also trying to find where we belong.
There is almost nothing simple about being human. But in the complexity of our world, we still find beauty. I want to share with you the way that I see the world. I want to share with you what I find captivating.
My passion is photography because my passion is being in the presence of beauty.
